Shirley Ann (Williams) Gabbert, 82, of Lumberport entered the gates of heaven at 12:15 AM on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Vickie Grilli surrounded by her children.
She was born on August 28, 1934 in Clarksburg to the late Kenneth and Pauline (Swiger) Williams.
Shirley is survived by her children, Victoria L. Grilli and her husband Joseph A.; Gene C. Gabbert, Jr.; and Trina J. Hood and her husband Wesley, all of Clarksburg; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her brother, Joseph K. Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded by her loving husband, Gene C. Gabbert whom she married on November 17, 1954; son, Kevin L. Gabbert; brothers, Thomas C. (Jack) Williams; and James H. Williams; and sister, Barbara Williams.
Shirley was a member and held the office of secretary and treasurer at Ten Mile Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the church, bible school, and the food pantry. Shirley enjoyed listening to music, dancing, reading, going to church picnics and gatherings, and spending time with family and grandchildren. She was employed for many years as a Real Estate Agent. She worked for Four Star Realty, Colombo Realty, Chamberlain and Flowers. She was an office manager for Insurance For Less, and Master Merchandising.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston on Wednesday from 2-8 PM and Thursday from 9-11 AM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Perine officiating. Interment will follow at Rosebud Cemetery.
