Karin vonBroock Martin, 79, of Peora, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2017. Karin passed peacefully at home in the arms of her husband, following an extended illness.
Karin was born in Cuxhaven, Germany to Stanislaus and Carla Martha vonBroock on August 26, 1937. She was one of five children; those remaining still reside in Germany. Mrs. Martin lived and worked in Germany until traveling to the United States to marry her husband Edgar G. Martin Sr., whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Karin and Edgar have five children; Brenda Butler and husband Barry of Peora, Brigitte Martin of South Carolina, Beverly Young and husband Tim of Lumberport, Bonita Cain and fiancé Mark Holcomb of Enterprise, and Eddie Martin and wife Sandy of Lumberport.
She also has fourteen grandchildren; Brandi Butler, Brooke Terneus and husband Scott, Brandon Butler, Joni Edgell and husband Chris, Johnny Marra, Zachary Martin and wife Marlyn, Lacey Scheuvront and husband Christopher, Bellany Young, Tre Cain and wife Jordon, Faith Cain, Kayla Light and husband Aaron, Travis Martin, Shalynn and Shyann Sears. Also she has twelve great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Coco.
In her life she worked hard taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her dogs. Karin was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 from 2p.m. to 8p.m.and Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 from noon to 2p.m. at Harmer’s Funeral Home, Shinnston, West Virginia. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at 2p.m. at Harmer’s followed by a graveside ceremony at Enterprise IOOF Cemetery.
