Thomas Gilbert Woodson, 78 of Salem passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at United Hospital Center.
He was born on August 23, 1939 in Greenville, KY to the late Gilbert Henry and Carrie Mae Allen Woodson.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Sue Fields Woodson, whom he married on August 29, 1964.
He is also survived by their son, John Mark Woodson of Salem; his brother, Keith Woodson of Greenville, KY; sisters, Jane Jessup of Greenville, KY; Barbara “Bobbi” Brown of Central City, KY; and ReJeana Bradford and her husband Keith of Shelbyville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Don Brown; and Jimmy Jessup; and sister-in-law, Christine Woodson.
Thomas attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. He graduated with a master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was also a graduate from Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, KY. Thomas loved collecting antiques. He enjoyed taking church groups to the Holy Land. Thomas also loved cooking, flower gardening, painting, drawing, and listening to music.
Family and friends will be received at Coon’s Run Baptist Church on Friday from 10-11AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 with Pastor Sonny Palmer officiating.
