Sarah Jane (DeMarco) Rose, 86, of Shinnston, went to be with her Lord and savior on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at her home and surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 17, 1931 in Owings, WV. The daughter of Frank DeMarco and Mary (Perri) DeMarco. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Patsy Rose Sr. on September 11, 2015. Sarah was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary (DeMarco) Conn, Rosie DeMarco, Elizabeth DeMarco, Louise (DeMarco) Shartzer, Margaret (DeMarco) Penzes, Victoria (DeMarco) Guzzo, Catherine “Kay” (Demarco) Macadoff, Antoinette “Annie” (DeMarco) Zurick, and Mary “Gina” (DeMarco) Wine. Her brothers John Demarco, Salvitore “Tootie” Demarco, Joseph DeMarco, Louie DeMarco, Sam DeMarco, Sammy DeMarco, and Tony DeMarco.

She is survived by her children, Mary “Patty” (Rose) Moran and husband Ray, Sharon (Rose) Sears and husband Joe, Frank Rose and wife Kathy, and Patsy Rose Jr. and wife Shannon, all of Shinnston. Her grandchildren Tammy (Moran) McKeever and husband Shawn, Brian Moran and wife Jennifer, Melissa (Sears) Benson and husband Bill, Christy Sears, Mandy (Rose) Bowen and husband Shane, and Keston Pasquale Rose, all of Shinnston. Her Great Grandchildren, Devin Moran, Destiny (Moran) Paugh and husband Joe, Dalton Moran, Jessica Benson, Austin Benson, Emma Benson, Wesley Benson, Frankie Bowen, and Ella Rose Bowen. Her great-great grandchildren Peyitt Paugh, Izabella Paugh, and River Anderson.

Sarah spent her life as a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Most of her time was spent in the kitchen. She loved to cook and bake, especially for others. Her family, and taking care of all of them was her true passion. She was Catholic by faith and attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Shinnston where she was also an active member of the Alter Society. She was a member of the Catholic Daughter’s and active in her community as Harrison County Democrat Committee woman for 3 terms. She and her husband also served the Bi-County Nutrition Meals on Wheels program together.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home 300 Pike St, Shinnston From 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Holy Rosery will be recited at 7:30 PM on Friday May 25, 2018 A funeral service will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church on Sat May 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Pat Wash officiating.
